New York State Cross-Border Industry Matching Conference Attracts Enthusiastic Participation from Taiwanese Firms, Bright Future for US-Taiwan Collaboration

On April 15-16, TUSA, in collaboration with the Empire State Development Trade and Investment Office in Taiwan, hosted the "New York State Cross-Border Industry Matching Conference," which attracted more than 40 Taiwanese technology companies, totaling 65 participants. The conference aimed to enhance cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and New York in high-tech industries, fostering greater opportunities for industrial development in both regions.

The event featured a delegation led by Hope Knight, President, CEO, and Commissioner of Empire State Development (ESD), New York State's economic development agency. This Asia trip included only two stops: Taiwan and Japan. The delegation comprised representatives from eight American companies: Applied Image, Exergy, Innosek, Mosaic Microsystems, Xallent, SEEQC, Sentient Science, and Blasch. They engaged in in-depth business matchmaking and technical exchanges with Taiwanese companies from various sectors, including optoelectronics, semiconductors, energy, steel manufacturing, and precision machinery. The Taiwanese participants included UMC, GMTC, TiSPACE, Kaori, Jorjin, and Chun Hwa Metal.

During the event, TUSA facilitated a special discussion between American company SEEQC and the Industrial Technology Research Institute's Electronic and Optoelectronic System Research Laboratories (ITRI EOSL) on the design and manufacturing of Single Flux Quantum (SFQ) chips. This advanced superconducting digital chip technology can enhance and energy-efficient quantum computing systems, demonstrating extensive application potential.

The conference not only promoted international cooperation but also facilitated commercial connections between Taiwanese companies and the visiting American firms, helping Taiwanese companies integrate into American supply chains and expanding opportunities for Taiwan-US industrial cooperation. The enthusiastic response from Taiwanese companies, who actively participated in various exchange activities, highlighted the strong potential for Taiwan-US collaboration.

TUSA expressed to Nikki Pong, Director of the Empire State Development Trade and Investment Office in Taiwan, their continued commitment to assisting visiting American executives in finding potential Taiwanese partners. TUSA will keep supporting and promoting cooperation and exchanges between New York State businesses and Taiwanese companies.

The successful hosting of this matchmaking conference has laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between Taiwan and the US in high-tech industries, showcasing a promising outlook for Taiwan-US collaboration.
